From Peter on the Bass students
     Well done Peter.
You did cover sinking lines  How do you recast a sinking line or heavy bass fly?
What can you tell them about the leaders. floating/sinking lines.
You used the term "horseshoe cast"
"Belgium cast" I think is what your are referring to.
Do you do anything different for female students?

Al....I would cover proper rods, lines, flies and leaders for bass. Since they will be casting bulky flies I would cover the elliptical cast under different wind conditions. We would work on casting medium to large loops for different bass flies. I would review the haul and the double-haul as well as accuracy cast as bass often lay near or under obstructions for surface presentations. For sinking lines they should also do the elliptical or "horseshoe cast". The retrieve should be always done with rod tip pointing at fly and strip strike combined with raising the rod tip used for hooking the fish.  Emphasis will be on a straight line layout......

Here it is Monday and Gordy is somewhere on the northeast coast looking across at the rising sun. He will be making some cast from the beach or wading out almost too deep. He is looking for busting bait or flashes of silver.  Good luck Gordy,we are waiting for reports.
The master is to know about many different areas of fishing and should be some what knowledgeable. Tom White uses the X fish. Where to go and how to find out what and area offers. Here is the problem:
You are to have some students that are heading to North Texas to fish for the Famous Texas Largemouth Bass. They said that they were to fish with a guide on Lake Fork. They wanted to "brush up" on casting for this area.
What are you going to cover in your 4 hour lesson for two men and their wives?

    Have a great week
Oh you will have to use my E mail address till Gordy returns.
