This is a great video ! I have no idea where it was made, or the species involved.
I have had an 85 lb tarpon jump in my skiff. I was fighting him and had the forward hatch open to get out the lip gaff, when he made an unexpected jump. The fish knocked me down on the deck and landed on top of me. On the way, he broke 3 stainless steel hinges on the hatch.
Covered with slime and a little bruised, I slid him over and got him out of the skiff with no real injuries.
I don't use the lip gaff much, now, as I prefer to leave the creature in the water while removing or clipping the hook or leader. We've learned a lot about the damage which can be done to the fish by bringing one of these beautiful creatures out of the water.
