I’m a big fan of Bruce Richards for his contributions to casting and line designs. Another good book on lines is America’s Fly Lines- The Evolution of the Modern Fly Line From Its Horsehair and Silk Beginnings, by Victor R. Johnson, Jr., EP Press 2003, ISBN #0-9740531-04.
