Walter & Group...
[GH] As many of you know, Peter Minnick of our Group, has spent much of his working years teaching in schools for the handicapped. His thoughts :
Gordy,
I think your responses have pretty much covered the gamut for working with the visually impaired..I would get constant feedback from the student to be sure that we're both on the same page.
I would try to teach as with any other student with a lot of hands on emphasis.
Through a dialogue I would try to illicit as many cues as I could to help me communicate and get across images and concepts....through other sensory channels....I think the biggest obstacle would be your own attitude and the standards you apply...
Peter

[GH] Interesting recollection by Craig Buckbee :
Gordy,
a couple of years ago when Lefty was at L+H Woods with you and Jim Valle I commented to Lefty
that the nail knot on the fly line trick should be named "The Braille Knot". He thought it was a good idea.
I still think so... "Braille Knot" .

[GH] Craig,
"BRAILLE KNOT" ! Thanks for reminding me about that. We all thought that was a great idea.
