Have a good break Gordy.
In response to Jim Bass' post - we recommend that all out coaches complete a risk assessment of the area/premises (European Health & Safety - now a UK Health & Safety Act of Parliament since 1974 and hence criminal law). This is then used as a brief at the start of a session and wearing eye protection and a hat is a must do - all our coaches are advised to have spare "hat 'n glasses" as well as sunscreen in their coaching kit. Our organisation has its own Health & Safety policy and Risk Management Strategy together with relevant forms and a matrix to estimate the risk. As an organisation we have a system of governance (policies & procedures as well as a code of practice) - this demonstrates our professional approach to instructing or coaching as we now refer to.
