    Walter & Group....

    [GH]  I'LL BE AWAY FOR A FEW DAYS.

     GORDY

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    [GH]  From Bob Rumpf :
    Hi Gordy & group,
    I have recently purchased a two volume set of Schwiebert's "Trout" with a damaged slip-case, the books are fine. I  paid $160.00 for the set, as soon as they arrive, anybody that wants them for that price can have them. I have several other sets in my inventory of the more expensive variety, so these are quite a bargain and I made the purchase with the group in mind. I am constantly looking for study material books and have amassed some but not enough to issue a list quite yet. Incidentally what always appealed to me about Ernie Schwiebert was his impeccable research. There is a good basic angling history lesson within the covers of this set of books.
    Regards,
    [GH]  Bob,
    Many thanks !    If that one is gone, perhaps you can let anyone else interested know your prices and availability of the other ones you have. They can contact you directly.
    Best,
    Gordy
    [GH]  Some of you may already own the original editions of "Lefty's Little Library".  I treasure my own collection.  These little books contain mountains of information.  Some were written by Lefty, others by authors he chose who were experts in their own fly fishing specialties.
    I've learned that these books are now being offered again as a series open to "Library members" who sign up.
    I'm assuming that these are reprints of the original series and that they will include works by authors, Larry Tulles, Goddard & Clarke, Dave Whitlock, Dave Hughes, Bruce Richards and others.  If I am correct, this will include a re-print of Bruce Richards' MODERN FLY LINES.
    The publisher :  Palladium Press, 2120 16th Ave., South, Birmingham, AL 35205.
    Contact:  Lefty's Little Library of Fly Fishing, Division of PalladiumPress, :PO Box 530065, Birmingham, Al 35253-9880.
                                                 THEN....
    Imagine my surprise when I called Lefty and found out that he didn't even know about this !!!!
    He is understandably concerned because these books were written years ago : Circa 1991 - 1995.
    We discussed the fact that there has been so much learned about fly casting and fly fishing since those years.
    Any of you who order them will know this, of course.  In any event with that understanding, they all make great background information..... but have not been re-written or updated.  In the case of MODERN FLY LINES, the basic principles of fly line design still pertain.  Newer line designs came later.
