Hi Gordy,
Just a quick note to say that Bill Gammel and I will
be hosting a continuing ed school for CCI's and MCCI's June 5-7, 2009
in Mountain Home, Ar (well, actually it is in Cotter, AR).
This school will focus on two handed casting and the guest
instructors will be Al Buhr and Bob Middo.
If you know of any one who has an interest in two handed
casting they may contact me at charles.easterling@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
The school is limited to twenty students who must be either CCI's or
MCCI's.
Thank you,
Chuck

From Jerry
Puckett:
Gordy,
Let me know your thoughts on this cast regarding use with one who
has shoulder problems. Bert's Cast reminded me of a statement
Tom White made about the wrist, it does not matter how much wrist one uses
as long as the rod tip travels in a straight line path.
I have been watching Tom White videos this week finally
summoning the courage to do so..If one wants to see how to teach with
enthusiasm and clearness Tom was the master. I treasure
these videos of Tom teaching. I always remember him at the
Conclaves watching him demonstrate casting and
teaching--infectious!
It is Thanksgiving and time to express thanks, to you, to the group
and to Tom White and Mel Krieger for the gifts given by these
two departed stalwarts! My thanks to everyone for the
time and effort put into this special group, you are moving me to higher
level of casting and teaching.

The, "Bert cast" eliminates shoulder
motion, so it would necessarily work fine with folks who have shoulder
problems. Of course, it is a limited application specialty cast
which works great for flipping flies accurately beneath overhanging growth
including mangroves.
We all agree on what you have said about
Tom White. I feel blessed for having the opportunity to have worked
with him!
