Walter & Group.....
Let's, brieflly, insert a new topic while awaiting more answers on the last
Quiz :-
Mack Martin asks:
Gordy:
With such a smart group of folks that are
associated with the study group, I would be interested to hear their opinions on
the difference between the Duncan loop and the Uni-knot. (Another
mini-quiz)
We have always taught that the Duncan loop is a
fixed loop knot and the Uni-knot is a slip loop knot. Both knots are tied in a
very similar fashion but they are different knots. Moreover, literature on the
subject is conflicting from what I can see.
What is your opinion on the
matter?
Regards....

Let's have some answers from you Group members before I come up with the one
I sent to Mack.

Gordy:
Thought I would share this with you, been teaching at the Boat Show and
giving casting demonstrations. This is what makes it worth while!

LITTLE
SUNFLOWER
Six years
old, quite, reserved, unblemished youth,
Excited
blue eyes, warm smile, this young girl
Filled with
wonder, ask if she could learn to cast
(Salt Lake
City Boat Show, Feb. 20, 2008).
So we begin
the adventure, hopefully a journey.
With the
coordination of a song bird singing she
Draws deep
breaths of youth in challenge and
Soon, with
a little guiding, executes a child
Perfect
overhead pick-up and lay down cast.
When I tell
her we are ready to go fishing she
Lights up
with emerald glow, animated, a child
Filled with
petal delight.
As I am
talking to her grateful parents I become
Aware of a
soft touch encircling my legs; I look
Down and
this little flower has her arms wrapped
Around my
legs with her head resting on my thigh,
Looking up
she softly states, “Thank You for
Teaching
me.”
I stoop to
her level and return her gift telling her
How much I
love a hug, and thank you for caring!
Wondrous
loving child I think, heart melting, we
Linger and
chat for a brief moment, I searching
My
subliminal heart for words, unable to express
How deeply
I am moved and touched.
I pray a
silent prayer for God to guide and protect
This child
of budding love and life care, and for
Letting me
live to enjoy the hug of a warm loving
Child. I
think I understand how the sunflower
Opens it's
heart!
