    Hi Joe;

    Good reponse. In one of the teaching articles on "Virtual Fly Casting" there is a quote from Highter (and educator) that states to be a good teachier you must have the knowledge of what your are teaching, love the subject, and have a passion to impart this knowledg to your students. Actually, years don't count, but rather time involved in the discipline. Just because someone has been an avid fly fisherman for years does not stack up against someone who has dedicated his time, thinking, and energy in learning and perfecting his or hers skills even for a shorter time and has been on a goal of learning and higher learning. For example, it is like academic achievement. I have two Master's and two doctorate degrees. The thirst and quest for knowledge is an obsession in my respective disciplines. I am very intrigued that fly casting testing has approached a high level of academic achievement that perhaps the FFF has not perceived. Since fly casting and fishing is a skill that requires study and practice and practible application, it is definitely an academic offering and those who do not study or prepare will fail. Even teaching basket weaving requires knowledge and teaching skills.
