<div>Want to keep you updated with regard to CICP activities in Southwest
Florida.</div>

<div>The FFF and CICP made a good showing at the Shallow Water Fishing
Exposition in Sarasota last weekend. Show owner, Mark Castlow, graciously
permitted us to test instructor candidates and gave the FFF space for a
booth. The Mangrove Coast Fly Fishers of Sarasota, led by club president
and Master Instructor Pete Greenan, manned the FFF Display Booth sent down
from Livingston. Certified Instructor Rusty Chinnis organized and led
casting instruction for children. Certified Instructor Capt Greg Bowdish
conducted a presentation on saltwater kayaking. Master Instructors Brad
Lowman, Rex Gudgel and Scott Swartz participated in the CI pre-test workshop
with Greenan and me. Two CI candidates were tested by Lowman, Gudgel and
Greenan, one of which passed -- Bob Beanblossom. You'll
remember Beanblossom from one of your Marathon workshops. Lowman, Gudgel,
Greenan, Swartz and I presented Lefty Kreh with the Outstanding Achievement
in Fly Casting Instruction award, given by the BOG in August in
Livingston. </div>

<div>Overall, Our CICP and the FFF had a strong presence at this expo with
excellent synergy among the instructors. We all hope to grow the program in
this region and across the state. Pete Greenan is focusing heavily on
state-wide FFF growth. You'll be hearing more from him in the near future
about that. </div>

<div>The Mangrove Coast Fly Fishers in conjuction with the Coastal
Conservation Association will host the inaugural "Fall Fly Fishng
Challenge" on October 29th at Sarasota - we have a good number of FFF
instructors participating. The club is also hosting an extensive casting
clinic conducted by five certified and master certifiied instructors on
November 5th in Sarasota.</div>
