Brian...
One interesting method of making furled leaders is found in FLYCASTING SYSTEMS, by Bill Nash, pp 8a-8b. He goes into single and double furls, using suspended, spinning weights.
This little spiral bound book has some golden nuggets of information on many knots and leader systems. Bill is an FFF Master. You can order it by e-mail directly from him.

Gordy,Recently a friend showed me how to make custom furled or twined leaders. I have gotten pretty good at it and would like to make some for saltwater and am curious to know if they would be preferred much for Bonefish, Tarpon etc,. I assume they would be made out of monofilament, if not, what material would be best? I have made several trout leaders so far, dry fly leaders and nymphing leaders. Since I have limited experience with saltwater - would like to be prepared. Thanks!
