Thanks. I did just that, after I read your message. It did make a difference when using a floating line, but much less so with a full sink line. (I'm scratching my head over that finding.)

Howdy Gordy,Joy and I were the first, I think, to work on with the shooting guide. Joy came up with the 4" spacing. He places the shooting guide between the striping guides. I place it 4 inches closer to the grip. This reduces the lifting of the rod tip to grab the line when lost.If you would like to try it just place the same size guide on the rod and tape it in place.
