Hi Gordy,The point or "V" at the tip of the loop comes from the outward thrust of the hand/wrist/arm at the moment of the stop.It may be more from hand/wrist turnover if the rod/line balance is very stiff, or more forward arm movement if thebalance is soft, and you must carry the load with a longer stroke.Raising the arm/hand up simultaneously with the thrust, lifts the bottom leg of the loop up,countering the counterflex, so the effect is to tighten the loop. All the best,Steve

I recall that you once taught me one method of forming a very sharp loop by making a well timed brief upward and outward thrust which appeared to be done at the STOP.
My questions are these:
1.) Is this thrust actually made during counterflex after the RSP ...... or just prior to the STOP ?
2.) You were able to determine the actual shape of this loop, (flat on top or on the bottom).....and it appeared to me that you might have done this by making the thrust more "up" than "out" for one shape, and vice-versa. Am I correct about that ?
