Update from Al Crise :
Howdy Casters
I want to take today to say THANK YOU for all the Prayers and Cards.
Ft Worth ?Texas Oncology? on Eight St. at 8:45 am was my start on Friday I had my ?Cyber Knife? to cut on my brain Adenocarcinoma it was about the size of a dime. This I will state first: The procedure was more, scary than anything I have ever done.
Last week they made a mask of my head of a hard plastic that looked like a Fencer mask. This was clamped to a table while I was lying on my back. It did fit tight. I am happy as if the pinpoint Radiation missed I might be casting left-handed?. The Cell growth was in my motor center and balance control. That was the reason I was having trouble walking or turning a corner without touching a third point with my hand to keep up right. I was told that it would take about 1-1/2 hours, this was for the X-rays and Shot. I was not able to see other that sensing bright lights. The music in the background played to sooth my raw nerves. There I lay in The Doctors and Gods hands. I was in an out in about 35 minutes. Released with a few words from the doctor to be sure and take my meds for swelling and the best news he was sure it got it all?.
Took off for Weatherford with not a problem as my Grand-daughter Carla drove me to Weatherford, Texas Oncology. Here I had my second dose of Radiation for the day. This was to my chest area of the rest of the cancer cells in my body. I get these every day for 20 days. This is my last week, in this cycle.
Good news on Saturday morning I was walking straight and not swaying on the turns.
So off to Cabelas to do the Fly Flyfishing show with the Ft Worth fly Fishers, l see up to do an ?introduction to fly tying? this kept me setting and inside, out of the heat. It was great to be out and seeing people. Jim Bass CCI and Bill Hoot CCI did the casting classes outside in the heat? Lucky me?.
I received a free lunch at Cableas; so off to the restaurant for the ?daily special? of Chicken and dumpling over rice, BOY was it great, just to sit and EAT.
Yes it was tiring but I felt so good just to get out and meet people again. This was all possible due to the prayers of you?ll I am sure? Thank you.
Next week I will be back on the Chemo pump and stuck here at the house with not much energy as my body takes this cell killing treatment. I am sure that with friends like you I will be back on top of my game in short order. Being able to eat again is great and does a lot for my out-look.
Thanks Gang.
